From a hot plate of ugali and stew at lunch to nyama choma and Tusker as the sun sets — we've got every part of the day covered.

Slow-cooked stews, fresh ugali, sukuma wiki and kachumbari, prepared each morning from market-fresh produce and served hot straight from our open kitchen — comfort food, the way it was meant to taste.

Hand-picked goat, beef and chicken, butchered to order and grilled low and slow over glowing charcoal at our outdoor jiko. Served by the kilo with kachumbari, ugali and a side of unhurried conversation.

Ice-cold lagers, single malts, premium spirits, signature cocktails and a curated wine list — paired with live sports on the big screen and a soundtrack that carries the night from sundown to last call.

La Casa de Ocio — Spanish for “The House of Leisure” — was built on a single, simple idea: that good food, honest drinks and good company belong together. From the hand-laid stone walls to the makuti-thatched roofs and open-air patios, every corner of the house was designed by local craftsmen to slow you down and invite you to stay a little longer.
Our kitchen draws from generations of African home cooking; our grill is tended by pitmasters who treat charcoal like a craft; and our bar is run by people who remember your order. Whether you're stopping in for lunch, hosting friends for the weekend, or dropping the car at our wash bay while you enjoy a cold one — there is always a seat at the table reserved for you.
We've built every part of the house around one promise: that you leave feeling looked after. From the moment you arrive at our signposted gate to the last round before closing, every detail has been considered — the lighting, the music, the temperature of your drink and the heat of your plate.
Karibu is more than a greeting here — it is how we run the floor. Expect attentive service from a team that knows the menu, remembers regulars, and treats first-time guests like old friends.
Nothing leaves the kitchen we wouldn't serve at our own table. Stews simmer for hours, meats rest before slicing, and every plate is finished to order — never sitting under a lamp.
Quiet midweek lunches, sundowner drinks, weekend choma with the family, milestone birthdays, corporate get-togethers — the spaces are flexible and the team plans the details with you.
Four distinct settings under one roof — sun-dappled garden tables, an intimate makuti-roofed dining hall, a bamboo-wrapped lounge bar and a relaxed open-air wing that opens onto the gardens. Choose the mood; we'll set the table.
